How do you begin when a family with four dogs can’t even manage a single calm walk?

The ultimate aim is for the lovely family to have happy family walks with their four dogs.

There is a long long way to go.

Yesterday’s plan already out of date.

Until today they had just two dogs, Presley, a twelve-year-old Chinese Crested and Bo, a Crested Chihuahua mix age three. These two dogs might be very small, but the problems Presley in particular causes the lady on walks are very big. (more…)

Happy Walks on Loose Leads

Humans tend to react to things a dog may find threatening in precisely the opposite way to how the dog himself might naturally want to react. Humans tend to keep on approaching, not ‘showing weakness’.  A dog is much more likely to avoid, either by making a large arc or turning away.
