Scared of bangs. His world erupted

Until last year, where he was alert to bangs when out on walks, he could cope. Then, late November, they were out in the garden for his final toilet trip at about 10pm, and his world erupted.

PTSD caused by firework in mid-afternoon has ruined walks. Terrified of bangs

Laddie has always been a sensitive dog but he loved going out, he loved his walks and he also was happy to meet people and most other dogs. That has now all changed. It took just one careless firework set off behind their fence in an afternoon. Bangs now terrify Read more…

Border Collie’s life blighted by bangs

Bird scarers. The curse of dog walkers.

Ten days ago a bird scarer detonated and if he’d not been on lead Bob would have legged it home. He has now become reluctant to walk again – as he had been a year ago when they first got him. The Staffie Labrador mix is now four years old. Read more…

Spooked by bangs. On high alert.

Rio, now seven, has been spooked by bangs for several years now, since a firework went off while he was out on a walk.

Now he will mostly refuse to walk from the house – unless he goes in the car. He is on high alert and easily spooked by anything.

Street dog to couch potato. Still fearful.

Gracie is a street dog from Hungary. The lady adopted the little black terrier ten months ago and has made terrific progress in transforming the truly terrified little dog into a dog that can cope better. Coping is the word. She is still fearful of many things in the real world and runs Read more…
